Who I am
|
|
|
My name is Shai
Hayman. I’m a 15 year old, half Japanese and half American, home
schooler, currently living on the small island Tanegashima in
Japan.
While I only found my passion for filmmaking and photography two
years ago, it quickly took a strong hold on me. I always loved
making videos since I was a child, but when I was younger I
never thought of it as a career choice. But after discovering
some content creators and filmmakers It sort of re-ignited my
spark for creativity. |

What I do |
|
|
I was never really
interested in the “fast paced” type content. I found that I
enjoy true, authentic stories. I do however want to practice and
hone my filmmaking skills. So while the content I create may
feel a bit processed, the stories are true.
So while my content may feel a tad bit processed, the stories
and emotions are all true. My favorite types of photographs are
photos of nature and wildlife. But one day I hope to do a lot
more urban and portrait photography!
I also love reading and writing. Which is why I have a dedicated
blog page so I can express my feelings, thoughts and life
through another creative medium. Words! |

What Equipment I Use |
|
|
My main camera is
the Canon IXY 650. It’s just a simple point and shoot camera.
But for my age and my skill level, I find it perfect.
For video editing I often switch between the software Kdenlive
and CapCut. My laptop isn’t the most powerful, so I can’t be
picky with my software, but I find both Kdenlive and CapCut
highly versatile and capable software for my current needs.
I use GIMP to edit all my photos. The tools it has are perfect
for a beginner photographer like me just wanting to lightly
touch up the photos I photograph. |
